Each year the Association Board arranges 20 to 30 local families to host 2 students for their week in Portland. The students and school staff make a day trip to Mt Hood and the Columbia Gorge. Dancers and Band members participate in the Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade. The dance unit is a perennial award-winning favorite of the parade. They also conduct performances at several David Douglas schools and a final performance as a thank you to the host families and the school district.
