Common Questions

What days will my child's team practice?  What about the game schedule?
We will not know the practice schedule until mid January.  We won't be provided the game schedule until mid February.  However, its safe to assume practices will be during the week, and games will be on the weekend.  We also avoid scheduling games during spring break.

My child also plays <insert sport> in the spring.  Can we also play lacrosse?
While we encourage multi-sport youth athletes, this is always a case-by-case basis.  It is doable, but playing two sports with parallel seasons is difficult on any family's schedule.  You know your schedule and child's ability best.  Be upfront with your child's head coach if you anticipate schedule conflicts.  While no child will be excluded for missing something, they should not expect equal playing time in games if absences from practice are a common occurrence.

I don't know anything about lacrosse.  Will we be behind the curve?
Definitely not!  Each season a sizable portion of our players, across all age groups, are new to lacrosse.  All that is needed is for your player to show up and be willing to learn.   Our coaching staff is very comfortable with teaching lacrosse fundamentals to both players and parents.  However, players must practice stick skills outside of practice.  Coaches will provide guidance on what to work on at home.

    What equipment is required?
Visit the Boys Basics and Girls Basics tab for details.  We also have an equipment loaner program  available, free of charge, to minimize the financial impact of a player trying out a new sport.

How do I know my registration was successful?
You will receive a system email confirming your registration.  The subject line will include "Order Confirmation"

I already registered, but haven't been provided details on when to show up for practice.
Your team's head coach will make contact via email in mid January.  They will send to the email(s) you provided during registration.

For brand new players who want to learn the sport without participating in games or receiving a uniform, there is a “learn-to-play” option.  We also have limited financial aid programs that cover registration fees and free equipment use for qualified families.  Contact us at [email protected] for details.
