TBSC - CURRENT STATUS

Updated: Fall 2021 Season (as of 10/3/21)

Regardless of whether the player/family attends an ESD school, TBSC is generally following ESD Covid Health/Safety guidance which in turn follows Snohomish Healthy District,  This is because we significantly use ESD fields and a clear majority of our families attend ESD schools.

However, any coach or parent should contact their TBSC Division Director to report any exposure, close contact, positive tests, etc. so that we can advise and recommend course of action.

Updated: Fall 2021 Season (as of 8/30/21)

We know our families have many questions about how we will return to play safely.

TBSC is following the guidelines set forth by Washington Youth Soccer, in conjunction with Washington State and Snohomish County.

WYS Gameday Protocols and Safety Plan Fall 2021:

The WA State Governor’s Office and Department of Health are NOT currently requiring players, coaches, or spectators to wear masks at training or games, although they may choose to wear one.   These guidelines can change at any time - so we need to all remain flexible.

NOTE: Certain counties, clubs, or field providers may have tighter restrictions in place that may involve mask mandates.
Notably, many of our activities utilized Edmonds School District fields which have local requirements.

Our continued use of these fields is conditional upon strict adherence to these requirements.  We ask all participants and families to do their part so we can all keep playing!

*Edmonds School District Masking Requirements:

  • Masks must be worn by everyone vaccinated or not on district prosperity inside and out.  This means walking to and from practices and to and from the restrooms
  • Masks can be taken off ONLY if you are actively in play.
  • Must have masks on in huddles, during half-time, and while on sidelines (including coaches during practices and games).
  • Spectators will be on the outside of fences at most fields and must have masks on at all times.

GENERAL COVID AWARENESS

Basic principles of that plan include, but are not limited to:

1. No one that is sick or has any signs or symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 may attend games or practices. (including spectators)

2. All participants (players, coaches, referees, spectators) must wear a mask when required based on requirements from State Department of Health, Washington Youth Soccer Guidelines. and field specific stipulations.  Depending on the current situation, this MAY include wearing masks during.

3. Physical distance of 6 feet must be maintained between participants (and spectators) with exceptions for players while engaged in sporting activities.

4. It is recommended that coaches keeping attendance notes for games and practices for 2 weeks to assist with contact tracing, if necessary.

5. Any positive COVID test result from a team member (or their household) should be reported to the coach and the TBSC Board Members as soon as reasonably possible. The board will assist in determining the best course of action.
Reminder: further details about positive COVID tests protocols are found on the Washington Youth Soccer site.
