2024 Fall Recreational Soccer

REGISTRATION LINKS AND DEADLINES:

All returning players need to register by May 20th to be guaranteed a spot on their team from Fall 2023.  New players also need to register by May 20th to be in the highest placement group and guaranteed a spot on a fall team.  Registrations will continue to be accepted after that date, but will be in the 2nd placement group for all team/buddy requests.

FINANCIAL AID:

If you think you qualify for financial aid (free school lunch or state low income insurance plan) e-mail [email protected] and include your child’s name, birth date and proof of eligibility for financial aid. Once this is received and approved, instructions on how to register your child for the fall season will be e-mailed to you. Financial aid is limited.


AGE CHARTS:


Division placement is based on grade year in school.  We follow the LWSD birthdate range for school grade placement. Please see the chart below.

COACHES:

Coaches are parent volunteers.   Teams cannot be formed and players will not get to play without parents stepping up to coach.  Please register to coach when you register your child for the season.  


GAMES AND PRACTICES:

Practices begin on or after August 1st.  Coaches will determine the day/time/location of practices specifically for their team.  Most teams will practice two times per week for one hour.

Games for U8-U19 begin on September 7 & 8 and play through the end of October (mid-November for U13+)

U10-U12 will play in an end of season tournament November 2 & 3

Coed U7 teams will start on September 13th and end on October 18th.  6 total Friday night sessions.


TEAM PLACEMENT NOTICE:


U8-U19 player team placement emails will be sent by the end of June.

Co-Ed U7 team placement emails will be sent by the end of August.


REFUNDS:


Refunds U8 to U19 Teams

Refund policy applies to all registrants even if you decide to move to a Crossfire Select or Crossfire Premier team.

Refunds available by parent/guardian e-mail request to [email protected].
100% refund if a player cancels registration for any reason during the open registration period April-May
Starting June 1st, less a $25 administrative fee.
Starting July 1st, but Before August 15th less a $50 administrative fee.
Starting August 15th, but Before August 31st less a $75 administrative fee
After August 31st no refunds.

Refunds Coed U7 Teams Only

Refunds available by parent/guardian e-mail request to [email protected].
A refund will be issued less a $25.00 administrative fee if requested by August 31st.
No refunds after August 31st.


UNIFORMS/EQUIPMENT:

  • A uniform kit is required.  Please visit our Uniform Page for detailed info on the fall uniform kits.  
  • Shin guards with socks covering the shin guard (mandatory)
  • Soccer cleats are recommended
  • Bring a soccer ball (U7 & U8 size #3), (U9-U12 size #4), (U13-U19 size #5). 
  • Water bottle


Recreational Cup Tournament U13-U19

The Recreational Cup is the Washington State Youth Soccer Tournament for XF Rec U13 thru U19 teams.

This is the highest level of competition for recreational teams and is intended to provide the opportunity for the top teams from around the state to compete against each other. ANY team is allowed to register for the tournament, but it requires a high level of commitment from the team as first round games are scheduled before the end of the regular season and the State Championship games are scheduled for early December.

Timeframe:

  • Late October-Mid December
  • October/November: Preliminary games held within each respective associations area.
  • November: Washington State Youth Soccer District 2(D2)  games are held prior to Thanksgiving.
  • December: D2 champions proceed to the State quarterfinal matches the first weekend in December and semi-finalists move on to the second weekend in December to play semi-finals and final games.

Eligible Age Groups: U13 - U19

Where: District II fields through District Finals, TBD location for State Finals

Format: Three-Stage Tournament (round robin preliminary games followed by District II semi-final and final games followed by State Finals)

Registration Deadline: varies each year, but usually mid-September

Cost: May be different each year, but approximately $600-$700

Recreational Club Boundaries

Coed U7

The Pre-Soccer Program (U7) is specifically designed to introduce younger children to soccer and provide a smooth entry into team play the following year.  The key objective at this age is for every player to establish a basic understanding of the game and to get as many touches on the ball as possible.

U8-U12 Age Group

Practices will begin in early August and are typically twice per week.  Coaches set the day and time for practices in this age division.  Games will begin the first Saturday following Labor day.  Game times will vary but typically have a start time between 9am and 3pm.  There may be an occasional weeknight game.  Games are played against teams within the XF Rec Program.  

Games: Marymoor Park, 60 Acres Park, or Crestwoods Park  

Practices: held at locations throughout the LWSD school district area.  

U8 & U9 Teams will play 8 games during the fall season.

U10-U12 Teams will play 10 games during the fall season.  

U10-U12 Teams have the opportunity to play in the XF Rec Association Cup at the end of the season.  This is usually held the first weekend in November.  Teams will qualify based on season standings.  


U13-U19 Age Group

Practices will begin in early August and are typically twice per week.  Coaches set the day and time for practices in this age division.  Games will begin the first Saturday/Sunday following Labor day through the 3rd week of November.  Game times will vary but typically have a start time between 9am and 5pm. 

Teams will play a 10 game season.  

Home Games: 60 Acres Park, Eastlake High School, Big Finn Hill Park, 132nd Square Park, or other fields within the LWSD boundaries.

Away Games: some travel involved for AWAY games to cities of soccer leagues that are a part of League Washington.

Practices: locations throughout the LWSD school district area.  


U13 to U15 Age Division

New for Fall 2024, U13-U15 teams will play in League Washington.  Games can be scheduled on either Saturday or Sunday.  Historically the GU13-GU15 age groups play on Saturday.  BU13 play on Saturday.  BU14-BU15 play on Sunday. 

U16 to U19 Age Division

The high school aged teams will play in League Washington.  All games will be scheduled for Sundays.
