Competition Cheer
The Mount Lebanon Youth Cheerleading Association provides an advanced competition program for Mt. Lebanon Residents in third through sixth grades. This squad provides the opportunity to experience local and state competitions in preparation for middle and high school cheerleading.
The purpose of our competitive program is to allow cheerleaders to take their love of the sport to the next level. Although, an immense amount of work goes into the season, the rewards are worth it. To be successful in this sport, our athletes must not only be strong, disciplined and talented on their own, they must stand strong as a team. Competitive cheerleading is a lot of fun and a lot of hard work, with an emphasis on sportsmanship.
The MTLYCA’s Competitive Cheer Program requires skills in motions, jumps, tumbling and stunting. This sport builds physical, mental and emotional strength. Participating on an MTLYCA’s competition team is a wonderful experience when the program, the athlete and the parents are all working toward similar goals.
Competition Cheer Guidelines
*Along with Sideline guidelines -
Competition Squad is by invitation to experienced MTLYCA cheerleaders in grades 3 through 6 in good standing from previous season
● Competition Cheerleading is in addition the sideline cheerleading program. 2 mandatory practices a week and 3 to 5 competitions.
● Any cheerleader who wishes to participate on the competition squad must also be a member in good standing on a sideline squad.
● Removal from one squad will result in removal from all participating squads.
●Missing a gameday on Saturday forfeits the opportunity to compete on Sunday.
● Attendance is mandatory at all competition practices and competitions. Tentative competition dates provided during registration.
ALL potential participants should mark "interested in competition" when registering for sideline cheerleading. Competition Registration will take place after mandatory evaluation.
DATES TO REMEMBER IF INVITED TO JOIN COMPETITION -
*MAY 22 - 5 to 7pm - Jump/ Stunt Evaluation
*MAY 24 - 5 to 8pm - UCA Stunt Camp
*MAY 28 & 30 - 5:30 to 8pm & *MAY 31 - 5:30 to 7:30pm - Choreography Camp
*Attendance is mandatory
