DESCRIPTION OF BOARD POSITIONS

President

The CDGS President is the primary local representative and is elected annually by the recognized voting members of the league. The role demands someone with leadership skills, knowledge, experience, organizational capability, and a strong commitment of time and energy to ensure a positive experience for players, families, and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership: As the chief administrator, the president appoints managers, coaches, umpires, and committee members, with final decisions ratified by the Board of Directors.

  2. Accountability: The president is answerable to the local league Board of Directors and must operate within the stipulated rules and regulations. Little League International holds the president accountable for the entire local league operation.

  3. Communication: The president is the main contact between the local league and Little League International and represents the league at the District organization.

  4. Knowledge: The president should be well-informed about the regulations governing Little League and ensures all members adhere to these rules. Violations can lead to disciplinary actions, hence close collaboration with District Administrators and Little League International staff is vital.

  5. Public Relations: The president embodies the public image of the local Little League, actively seeks community support, and cultivates positive relationships.

  6. Administration: The president chairs league meetings and is responsible for the complete operation of the local league.

  7. Role Model: Embodying the principles of Little League, the president should exemplify leadership, guiding players, volunteers, and parents alike.

In essence, the Little League President is both an administrative figure and a role model, ensuring smooth operations, upholding standards, and fostering a positive community image.

Vice President

Presides in the absence of the president; works with other officers and committee members; is ex-official member of all committees and carries out such duties and assignments as may be delegated by the President.
