Intermediate Summer League for TEENS

Through the City of Amsterdam’s Recreation Commission and a partnership with the GASD we will now be able to host games and practices on the 90’ baseball field at the 4 diamonds on Lindbergh Ave and Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam.

Proving a landing place for Little League graduates to develop and continue in the sport of baseball has become a growing need. Looking at participation numbers in our youngest divisions this need will continue to grow.

Registration for our 13–15-year-old division will be open to ALL area leagues. THERE ARE NO RESIDENCY REQUIRMENTS PLAYERS FROM ALL LEAGUES ARE WELCOME!

Inviting players in from all areas will help give our local players a sustainable season.

The league will start up as the Modified and JV seasons end. JUNE 9TH – AUG 31 We will schedule around area travel programs to optimize our potential registrant pool.

Players of all playing abilities are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity. Pitchers who need rest for Travel ball commitments will be managed with care.

We will work with everyone’s coaches to make sure this league is DEVELOPMENTAL.

We are looking for coaches.

We will consider allowing players from our neighboring communities to be placed on the same team draft exempt and fill the rosters with draft players as needed.

The underlying goal of this program is to bring back Babe Ruth affiliated baseball to our community. Amsterdam was once the Pinnacle of Babe Ruth Baseball. As recently as the early 2000s they registered over 300 players and hosted district, state, and regional tournaments. This brought hundreds of people into our city, which also provided economic stimulus.

With your players participation in these early stages, we hope to bring this program back to its original glory!
