Georgia High School Rugby Association

About our Club

In the Fall of 2004, several Coaches got together and set forth a plan to implement High School Rugby in the state of Georgia. This plan was based off a Graduate Thesis called "The Bryant Model" that outlined how to start High School Rugby and took into account the resistance of Athletic Directors and Football Coaches. On March 4, 2005, the first Georgia High School Rugby Association match was played in rainy conditions at Noonday Park in Kennesaw between the Oconee County High School Rugby Football Club and the Trojans Rugby Football Club (Lassiter High School).
