Rec Registration cancelled for 2020

Dear SGSC Players and Families,

We are sad to announce that we are cancelling the 2020 Rec Soccer Season due to COVID-19 related issues. The heart of the matter was twofold – we are currently not allowed by our governing bodies to play soccer games and we don’t currently have access to our normal fields.  Our Board concluded that we cannot provide what we offered to you in registration (a 10 game season with training during the week) and so have decided to cancel the 2020 recreational soccer season.

All families who registered will receive 100% of their money back – the club will pay the transaction fees. Please allow the club some time to work with the registration system to find the best way to return your money. Unfortunately, we’ve been told it may take a few weeks. If you want to reach the club – please email [email protected].

Will the kids get any chances to play soccer? We do retain hope that in the coming months, the health departments will allow normal soccer activities and we gain access to our fields. If this happens, we hope to host clinics, camps, mini-tournaments and other soccer events. When these opportunities arise, we will open up registration for particular events and will communicate regarding our activities.

These are tough times for those of us who love to see the kids playing. We promise to continue working to provide the Placerville and El Dorado County community an excellent opportunity to play soccer under safe and healthy conditions.

Warm regards,

The SGSC Board of Directors

Gary Dodge, President, SGSC
