Watershed Public Theatre is Maury County's professional theatre company located in Columbia, Tennessee. They support artists and growth of the local arts community by providing theatre training and employment opportunities to artists located in and around Maury County. Since December 2016, their full-stage productions and events have provided temporary employment for more than 100 artists while serving thousands of audiences in Middle Tennessee.
Watershed believes that theatre is the ultimate collaborative art and invites the whole community to be a part of that collaboration, bringing together arts professionals, students, volunteers and patrons to share in the illumination that only live performance can provide. While striving for the highest quality of artistic and educational experiences, Watershed maintains focus on nurturing community and practicing social and environmental responsibility.
Watershed has been a friend to the homeschool community, offering group ticketing to shows. I know several MTHCC families who have enjoyed attending plays such as Schoolhouse Rock, James and the Giant Peach, and Tom Sawyer.
