Your player’s league age is determined by the Little League Baseball® and Little League Softball® Age Charts. The dates for baseball and softball are different, but each determines the division in which your Little Leaguer will play this season. The Age Determination Date for a Little League Baseball player is the actual age of a child on August 31 of the current year. The Age Determination Date for a Little League Softball player is the actual age of a child on December 31 of the previous year.

TBALL
Players league age 4, 5, 6 are eligible to participate. This is the entry level of softball featuring the Tee the first half of the season and coachpitch + tee combo the second half of the season. An 11" soft compression softball is used. There is no player pitching. No post-season games at this level. 

COACHPITCH
Players league age 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 are eligible for coachpitch softball, with one year of TBALL required for 5 and 6 year olds. 10 year old players who have never played or are deemed to be a safety liability on the field may play at this level. This is a development entry level division and features Coach and Player pitch and uses an 11” softball. A league year-end tournament may be played at this level.

MINORS
Players league age 8, 9, 10, and 11 are eligible for Minors softball.  12 year old players who have never played and are deemed to be a safety liability on the field for majors may participate at this level.  Tryouts are required for all players. Minors softball is a stepping stone to the Major Division, in order to prepare players for the Major Division. This is a Player Pitch only Division. Players use an 11” softball. 12 year old players may not pitch in Minors softball. A Tournament of Champions can be held at the end of the season for the league champion team against other top teams in District 9. In addition, an All-Star team will be formed at the end of the season consisting of the top players selected from all eligible players decided on from games played and age. The All-Star teams age 8-10 and 9-11 may advance to the State Softball Championship only. The All-Star team 10-12 may advance to the Arizona State Championship and then continue on to the Little League Softball World Series level.

MAJORS 
Players league age 9, 10, 11, and 12 are eligible for Major softball. It is played with a 12” softball.  Tryouts are required for all players.  A Tournament of Champions can be held at the end of the season for the league champion team against other top teams in District 9. An All-Star team will be formed at the end of the season consisting of top players selected from all eligible players decided on from games played and age. The All-Star teams age 8-10 and 9-11 may advance to the State Softball Championship only. The All-Star team 10-12 may advance to the Arizona State Championship and then continue on to the Little League Softball World Series level.

JUNIORS
Players league age 12-14 are eligible for Juniors softball. It is played with a 12” softball. The All-Star team may advance to the Arizona State Championship and then continue on to the Junior League Softball World Series level.

SENIORS
Players league age 13-16 are eligible to play Senior softball.  It is played with a 12” softball. An All-Star team will be formed at the end of the season consisting of top players selected from the Senior teams in our league. The All-Star team may advance to the Arizona State Championship and then continue on to the Senior League Softball World Series level.
