New LL 2025 Eligibility Rule

2025 Regulation II Update: League Eligibility
https://www.littleleague.org/playing-rules/2025-regulation-2-update/

As part of this strategic change, which is detailed in Little League’s Regulation II as found in the Little League Rulebook App, players League Age 8-16 as of the 2025 season (born on or before September 1, 2017, for Baseball or January 1, 2017, for Softball) will continue to utilize the current boundary requirement based on residency or school enrollment.

The new Little League rules allow for a family to choose any league in which to begin their child's baseball and softball adventures.

It doesn’t matter if a player is already established in a current league, as long as they are league age 4-7 for the year they are registering, they can register wherever they want to, regardless of residence or school attendance.

In fact, they can change leagues every year between league ages 4-7 if they wish.  Why someone would do this I don’t know but they can if they want to.

Come their league age 8 year, they are limited to the following:

- Register with the league you played with the prior year when you were league age 7

- Register with the league based on your residence

- Register with the league based on your school you attend
