Carl Rees - Camp Director

Planet Soccer Camp Director Carl Rees is also the Head Coach of NCAA Division I Fairfield University. An ex-professional player, Carl is USSF and NSCAA licensed, and has received various awards and accolades over his coaching career, including MAAC Conference Coach of the Year and New England NCAA Division I Coach of the Year. He was responsible for producing the first nationally ranked program in Fairfield University history. In 2011 Rees led the Stags to a MAAC Tournament Championship, an undefeated MAAC Regular Season Championship, and a NCAA National Tournament appearance. During the 2011 season, the Stags were ranked as high as #25 in the NSCAA National Ranking poll. Coach Rees also works as a U.S. Soccer National Scout, evaluating regional talent for consideration for the National Pool. He is the Head of the NSCAA National Rankings committee and MAAC Conference Representative for the Major League Soccer Draft. Carl has a Masters of Education with a Sports Psychology concentration.


Phil Murray - Camp Director

Camp Director Phil Murray is the First Assistant Coach at Fairfield University. Phil, a native of Manchester, England, is entering his sixth season on the Fairfield staff, and is responsible for the administration of the camp. An English Football Association and USSF Licensed coach, Murray brings a wealth of experience from his playing days at Premier League clubs Blackburn Rovers and Manchester United.
