UFA Norcross' professional coaching staff has decades of experience coaching youth soccer. Each possesses the national or state license(s) that appears directly below their name.   Many of our coaches have extensive playing experience at the highest and most competitive level in the sport.


Roberto Sibaja

Roberto Sibaja is a native of Alajuela, Costa Rica where he played in Liga Deportiva Alajuelense youth divisions for many years. In 2001, he was recruited for the U-20 Costa Rican National Team to compete in the World Cup in Argentina. In 1997, Roberto’s family relocated to Atlanta. He played for Wheeler High School and a Metro Atlanta Youth Club team. He earned a full athletic scholarship and played collegiate soccer for Life University from 1999 to 2003, when he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition. Roberto graduated with a Masters in Sports Health Science and Nutrition from Life University in 2009. In 1998, he began his coaching career. He has coached at various Metro Atlanta youth organizations for seven years, training teams and holding head coach positions through 2005. From early 2004 to 2005, Roberto was Director of Personal Training for Bally Total Fitness. Most recently, he served as the Center Director/Director of Training at SuperKick in Norcross.

     
     

Sergio Magana

 Before joining Norcross, Sergio spent 2 years coaching at Alianza Soccer Club (ASC) at both the state and regional levels. He played a crucial role in assisting ASC in attaining regional premier league status. During this time, Sergio also served ASC as director of the youth boy’s division, U10 through U18.With his family originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, Sergio’s professional experience began with playing in the youth division of Club Atlas where he soon made his way up to the top level team. Before Club Atlas, Sergio played Georgia Youth Soccer with the Mustangs in Dekalb, GA.

     
     

Ryan Maurer

Ryan grew up in Dumfries, Scotland.  He moved to Atlanta after spending the last 4 years in New York where initially he coached for the New York Red Bulls in their Regional Training Program after which he moved to coach in Downtown United Soccer Club in Manhattan.  There he coached in their travel and academy programs as well as being involved in City Soccer In the Community bringing soccer to kids in inner city public schools. After 2 years coaching at Norcross, Ryan took over the role as Academy Director in February 2015.  He recently coached in the 2003 boys ODP program and is working towards becoming a USSF coaching instructor. He also holds a USSF A, UEFA B and NSCAA Advanced National Diploma.

     
     

Dan Dawson

 Dan is from London, England and grew up playing in the Crystal Palace Academy before playing for Semi-Professional Cray Wanderers in their youth team, Dan became the youngest player to represent the first team at age 15 in a Preseason tournament. Dan moved to Atlanta to play collegiate Soccer for Truett McConnell College and then moving to Conway, Arkansas to play for Central Baptist College earning the defense MVP award his senior year. He then started coaching at Arkansas Utd in their academy program before returning to Atlanta and joining UFA in 2014. Dan was the Goalkeeper coach for Georgia State University Men's Soccer team in 2014 before he moved to coach the Atlanta Silverbacks Goalkeepers in the 2015 NASL season. Dan coaches for Coerver and currently has academy teams at Norcross.

     
     

Chris Bess

  • USSF National D License

Chris Bess served as the junior varsity boys head coach at Norcross High School from 2004-2006 before taking over the varsity boys program in 2007 where he has guided the program to multiple state tournament appearances. He has also coached the U-11 girls Academy team at the Forsyth Fusion Soccer Club from 2006-2008. Chris holds a B. A. in English and a Masters of Teaching Secondary Education degree from the University of South Carolina and an Ed.S. Degree in Education Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University. Chris grew up playing club soccer for the North Augusta Kicks and Aiken United Soccer Clubs in South Carolina. He started on the varsity team at North Augusta High School for 4 years and earned South Carolina AAAA All-Region III honors from 1995-1997 and played on the South Carolina state ODP team from 1993-1996.

     
     

Robin Dixon

Robin has been involved in developing soccer players at the youth level for over20years. He began coaching while playing collegiately at Wake Forest in the early 90’s. He then worked 6 years with Baton Rouge United as the Assistant Director followed by five years with the New Orleans Soccer Academy as both the Boys’ Director and the Developmental Program Director (ages 4-10). Robin Dixon joined the Norcross Soccer Academy (now UFA-Norcross)Coaching Staff after 6 years at AFC Lightning where he was hired as the Director of Player Development in 2004. Shortly thereafter, he was named the Director of the Boys’ Program in 2006 serving in this capacity through the 2009-10 season.

Robin has extensive experience at every level of youth soccer development from the 4 year old beginners to the experienced College players. He has had the opportunity to coach 10teams toState Championships, 2 RPL Championsand has been a part of several Region III medal winners.

     
     

Bryan Dominguez

Bryan was born in Atlanta, GA but grew up in Cali, Colombia. He returned to the United States as a teenager when he was offered a place at the US National Residency Program in Bradenton, Florida in 2006. He attended the Edison Academic Center where he earned back-to-back NSCAA/adidas Youth All-American accolades, and played club soccer for Concorde Fire in Georgia, before playing two years of college soccer for UC Santa Barbara. 

Dominguez turned professional in 2010 when he signed with Miami FC of the USSF Division 2 Professional League. He made his professional debut on April 10, 2010 in a game against the Rochester Rhinos.   

Dominguez was a member of the United States U-17 men's national soccer team in 2007, and scored one goal in his four appearances with the team at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in South Korea.

     
     

Ross Keenan

Born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland before moving out to the States May 2014. Ross played in the youth academy before Graduating from University in Scotland with an Bsc (Hons) in Sports Coaching. He has worked with numerous coaching companies, primarily, a charitable organization set up by an ex-soccer player who offered complementary soccer sessions to children and adolescents in disadvantaged areas of Glasgow.  Also has experience with the Scottish Football Association working alongside international teams traveling to Scotland to play in UEFA tournaments and against Scotland's National team. At UFA, Ross has coached both boys and girls in Academy as well as Select teams.

     
     

Judas Kinchen

Judas Kinchen played three years at Auburn University in Montgomery, Alabama and one season of semi-professional in Iceland. He has fifteen years of coaching experience at different levels, including Recreational, High School, Club and ODP. He has been the Assistant Coach for men and women at Auburn University and for women at Southeastern Louisiana and Ohio Universities. Judas is a native of Ipswich Town England.

     
     

Neil Lynch

Neil first touched down in Atlanta in the spring of 2004 as a contracted soccer coach with Challenger Sports. After a successful season with select teams at Forsyth Fusion (now UFA) Neil joined NSA in the fall of 2004 and was assigned both select and academy teams. Neil has remained loyal to NSA and has worked with numerous competitive teams throughout his tenure with the club. A 2003 graduate of Leeds Metropolitan University in England, with a BA (Hons) degree in Sports Development & Recreation, Neil was an integral part of the University’s soccer program culminating in a top 10 ranking in the UK. Almost 10 years on Neil works full time as the Area Manager for Challenger Sports and continues to be dedicated to the technical development of youth soccer players at NSA. He is married to Kristi, his wife since 2008 and has a daughter, Harper.

     
     

Rich Mealey

    National Diploma in Sports Psychology

Rich originates from Hampshire in the south of England and joined Norcross in the spring of 2009. Before coming to the U.S., Rich worked for Chelsea FC in his native England as the U9 and U10 Elite Training Center coach. Additional responsibilities included overseeing schools soccer programs and Head Coach at Chelsea Soccer Camps. During his spell there Richard was part of the full Chelsea English Premier League Team Pre Season Tour to Asia. He also holds a National Diploma in Sports Psychology. Prior to his move to Chelsea, Richard was on the coaching staff at The David Beckham Academy in London.  As a player, Rich played Non-League football for various clubs where he won two League Championships and had several appearances in the FA Cup. As a youth player Rich represented his county Hampshire at U18 youth level. His primary aim is to gain the highest possible coaching qualifications and to become a devoted student of the game. 

     
     

Greig Munro

Greig grew up playing the beautiful game in the Highlands of Scotland spending time at Ross County FC and Berwick Rangers FC. In 2009 he accepted a scholarship to play in the US and in 2003 graduated from Birmingham-Southern College in Alabama with a BA in Sociology. Since then he has been involved in coaching youth soccer spending some time in the Midwest before returning to the Southeast. He spent 5 years at the Cannons Soccer Club on the South side of Atlanta as the club’s Academy Director. He has been coaching at NSA since 2009.

Ryan Paterson

Ryan is originally from Caerphilly, Wales and began coaching at UFA Norcross in 2013.Ryan played for the regional academy through his early teens and continued to play locally until he moved to the US in 2011 to work with Challenger Sports. Before moving to Atlanta in 2012 Ryan coached pre academy teams. Since moving to Atlanta in 2012 Ryan has coached at the Cherokee YMCA, numerous middle and high schools (Bridgemill School, and Atlanta Girls School).

     
     

Rodrigo Rios

In 1987, Rios joined the Universidad Católica youth system. In February 1996, he entered his first game with the Carolica first team in the Primera División de Chile. Ríos earned eight caps with the Chilean U-20 national team. In 2000, he played six games, scoring one goal, with the U-23 team during qualification for the 2000 Summer Olympics. However, he was not selected for the final roster. In 2001, he moved to Everton de Viña del Mar before moving to Palestino in 2002. From 2003 to 2004, he played for Unión Española. In 2005, he moved to the United States where he signed with the Atlanta Silverbacks in the USL First Division. He was a 2005 and 2006 second team All Star. The Silverbacks withdrew from the league following the 2008 season.  The club re-emerged in the North American Soccer League for the 2011 season. In preparation, the Silverbacks hired Ríos as Director of Soccer on December 18, 2010. 

In 2012, Rios started coaching Youth Soccer at Norcross Soccer Academy, he was awarded Girls Academy "Coach of the year" for the state of Georgia in 2013.

Carlos Tello

Carlos joined NSA in February of 2010. Carlos Tello is a native of Madrid, Spain. He started his career with Real Madrid´s youth team from 1992 until 1997, winning the U-16 national championship. Carlos has represented the Spanish National Team at the U-15 and U-16 levels, winning gold at the European Games. 

He is a ten-time International player with the regional selection team of Madrid, representing his country in the UEFA Regional Cup. Carlos has played professionally in Spain for such teams as Alcorcón, Alcalá de Henares and San Sebastián de los Reyes, playing against teams such as Real Madrid in Spain´s King´s Cup.

Carlos has worked as the goalkeeper coach for Emory University´s mens´ team since 2008 and began his first season as the goalkeeper coach for Walton High School´s men's varsity team in 2010. He is also an Training Center goalkeeper coach for the US Soccer Federation, as well as a scout.

     
     

Mark Tonner

Mark is a native of South Africa and has been living in Atlanta since 1994. He has been a very successful coach and coached teams at State, Regional and National levels. Mark is a dedicated coach who gives great attention to technical training. Mark played college soccer for Life University and graduated in 1999 with a BS in Nutrition.

He is married to wife Partricia and they have a daughter Kalvine.

     
     
 Jorge Tragodora
  • USSF D License 

 Jorge was born and raised in Callao,Peru.  He started playing soccer for Tito Drago academy at Lima,Peru and then played for Cienciano del Cuzco under 20.   In 2001, Jorge moved to Atlanta and played for Atlanta Silverbacks Reserves and then 2006 played the NPSL League with Atlanta FC.   

     
     

Pancho Ugarte

Pancho joined NSA in the summer of 2009. Pancho has more than twenty-two years of experience as an international and national soccer player, and is one of the most well-known Chilean soccer players. He began his professional career with Union La Calera, and he spent several seasons playing in Chile before moving to Europe for two seasons with Charleroi in the Belgian League and one season with Giannina in the Greek Super League. He made several appearances for the senior Chile national football team, his debut coming in a friendly game against Brazil on December 9, 1987. In 2007 and 2008, Georgia Soccer selected Pancho as the Boys’ Select Soccer Coach of the year.

     
     

Andy Wade

Andy Wade grew up in Swansea, Wales. He joined Norcross Soccer Academy in the Spring 2007 season.Previously, Andy trained U12-U14 select players at Concorde Fire. From 1999 through 2005, he trained U10-U17 players at Roswell Santos soccer club. From 1998 to 2000, Andy was the Director of Britannia Soccer Camps, winning Director of the Year in 1998, and was the Regional Manager for Britannia Soccer in 1999-2000. Additionally, he was the Great Falls Coach and Development Program Manager for U5-U15. His experience includes professional and semi-professional play at Nottingham Forest, Llanelli FC and Oxford United, Barry Town. He also earned the Football Leaders’ Award for the Football Association of Wales.

Tom Wilson

Tom is a native of Tadcaster, England and grew up playing in the youth training system at York City FC and Halifax Town FC. Tom continued his soccer career in Atlanta for Reinhardt University where he played for four years. He is currently completing his MBA at Reinhardt University. Tom has close to 10 years coaching experience in the UK, Spain and USA in various roles including camp coaching/directing, select coaching and academy coaching.
