Bearcat Soccer Club is In-House program, a true recreational program.
It is designed to teach the basic fundamentals of soccer through a fun and positive environment.
DISCLAIMER
Bearcat Soccer Clubs’ Recreational (In-House) and Rec+ (Travel) programs are outdoor sports and there may be practices and games that get canceled due to the weather and field conditions. This is beyond our control and our priority is the kid’s safety. Extending the season is unlikely due to school calendars, summer/winter vacations, weather and coordinating with other groups that have scheduled use of the parks with the town. No refunds will be given unless the season needs to be canceled.
Bearcat Soccer Club is a 100% volunteer organization from the Board Members to the Coaches. We need coaches for all age groups!!
REGISTRATION DATES
Open registration period is 11/11/2023 12:00 AM - 02/5/2024 11:59 PM.
Late Registration period is 02/5/2024 12:00 AM – 02/11/2024 11:59 PM with $30.00 late fee. No guarantee of placement.
Registration Closes 02/11/2024. (This is the last day to register of the Open and Late registration periods).
Declaration of teams is set for February 6th. In order to declare a team, we need the minimum of players for each division. U8- 6 players, U10- 7 players, U12-9 players, U14-11 players. If we do not meet the requirements, we cannot declare that division.
SEASON DATES
The tentative season dates are below (weather permitting).
Starts: April 7th, 2024, for Rec Plus (Travel)/ In-house April 6th, 2024
Ends: June 22nd, 2024, for Rec Plus (Travel) / In-house June 1st, 2024 (No games will be played during Memorial weekend 24-26th)
PLAYERS NEED TO PURCHASE
· Shin guards (MUST be worn UNDER socks at every practice and game)
· Soccer cleats (no toe cleat)
· Age-appropriate size ball
· Water bottle (please have your child bring a bottle to each practice and game)
DIVISION SPECIFIC INFO In House Rec games to be played at Union Center Elementary School on Saturday's 9-11am. Fee includes jersey, shorts, and socks.
· U04 - Size 3 Ball - Games 4- min quarters total 16 min - Practice varies by coach
· U06 - Size 3 Ball - Games 4- 6min quarters total 24 min - Practice Varies by coach
· U8 - Size 3 Ball - Games 2- 20 min half's total 40 min - Practice varies by coach
Rec Plus (Travel)

Rec Plus (Travel) Information
All teams will have 4- home games and 4- away games. Games are played throughout northwest Indiana, common places are Portage, Duneland, Chesterton, Valparaiso, Morgan Township, LOFS, Highland, Griffith, Hobart, Crown Point, Schererville, La Porte, Dyer. U8 division is a 6v6 format including a goalkeeper. Kids will be trained to play in different positions including the goalkeeper.
U10 division is a 7v7 format including a goalkeeper. Kids will be trained in the different positions on the team. The field and goal sizes are increased.
U12 division is a 9v9 format including a goalkeeper. Kids will be trained in the different positions on the team and learn tactics.
U14 division is a 11v11 format including a goalkeeper. Kids will be trained in the different positions on the team and learn tactics.
SPECIAL REQUESTS
The club is not taking special requests. There are no guarantees for which teammates, coach, or practice days you will get.
We have a zero Tolerance policy. Sportsmanship for players, coaches, staff, parents at all times. No foul language will be allowed. If a parent gets kicked out of a soccer game, that parent will not be able to return for the rest of season. If a player receives a red card, the player will receive a 2-game suspension. Let coaches coach, parents cheer, and players play the game. No refunds will be issued!!
