HGRA Rookie Grays - Week 5

Well, week 4 wasn't a complete washout. We missed practice due to rain, but we had great weather for the game! The Grays are definitely showing improvement in hitting and fielding. Batting will remain a practice focus this week.

Please let me know if your Gray will be absent from practices or games so I can adjust activities or positions. Thanks!

Reminders
Practice - Tuesday, 6/5, 6-7 pm, Groveland Field #2
Game - Bandits vs. Grays: Wednesday, 6/6, arrive by 6:15 pm, Groveland Field #1 (corner of Prior and St. Clair)

Remember your shirts, hats, and gloves!

The weather for Tuesday looks clear. Wednesday has a possibility of thunderstorms, but currently not as much around game time. Remember that Wednesday games will be played in light rain (no lightning), unless we hear from HGRA, which sometimes doesn't happen until 6 pm.

Post-game treats - Thanks to the Golniks for Week 4 treats! Sometimes I think that the treats and the playground are what really motivates the kids.... All weeks currently have someone signed up. If a conflict comes up, just let me/everyone know. Please plan for simple and easy - juice boxes, non-caffeine soda, cookies, oranges, bananas, or popsicles are a few suggestions. Please bring enough so brothers and sisters can have one too!

Coaching help will always be appreciated during practices and games. Practices work best if there are 3-4 stations with different activities, and those will vary from week to week. Game coaching will be a bit easier, as it involves base coaching ("Run!"), hitting ("Who's up?"), and wrangling ("Don't climb the fence/swing the bat/throw things!"). Cheering is also a major responsibility - support your Grays!
