FCX U19G MRL Weekend

The FCX U19 Girls Black, coached by Stuart Peek, finished their Midwest Regional league Premier one season, with a magnificent 2 wins, 1 tie weekend in Michigan. Coach Stuart Peek said, "The team once again, surpassed its previous high levels this season in the league. Playing in the premier one level for three consecutive years, set new club history, they are the first team to achieve this, and with their season record of 5-3-1, also become the highest placed FCX team in MRL premier one ever. The team has progressed each year. They always bring to the practices/games, the correct mental/physical/emotional level to not just compete against fellow division one bound college recruits, but also beat them. The league is the highest in the region, and facing the best from St Louis, Kansas, Michigan, Nebraska definitely is the ultimate test. But the team plays and works tirelessly  as a group, to compete at this high level. They have committed three years to me as their coach, and three years to their teammates, to each individually evolve and improve, and gel as a hard fighting, relentless team. I have told them many times, we might play better players, but rarely, if ever, are they outworked, or out battled in any game. This weekend was an example, where we traveled with 13 fit players, and played three 90 minute games, that is beyond tough to do, and as normal, they just got on with it, no excuses, no feeling sorry for themselves.
This team should be looked at by our younger teams/players, as the ultimate yardstick to try and reach. It will be a very tough task to replicate a team like this, but many of our younger players are at a potential/level, right where these players were at the same age. The 19s just chose to make the commitment and sacrifice it takes to be able to try and achieve this level. Well done to the team, I am beyond proud of every player on this team.
