Hello everyone,
We're right at the very end of the Fall
2017 season. There are some divisions who have already finished
and there are a few divisions who will be finishing within a few days
to a week. We've had a successful Fall season without any major
hiccups along the way.
The main purpose for this email is to
create awareness about open Board of Directors positions as well as
our Regional Commissioner position. Our current Regional
Commissioner is stepping down from his position and we are looking
for interested parties to step forward to help us run this great
organization. If we can fill these positions, it will help the
whole organization run more efficiently going forward.
Here
are the open positions:
1) Regional
Commissioner:
AYSO needs Regional Commissioners (RC) to organize, oversee, lead
and inspire at the local level. It is the position that insures the
most children get to enjoy the AYSO experience. It takes time and
commitment, but the rewards of this leadership role are great.
Children who have the opportunity to play sports do better in
school - and better in life - and an AYSO Regional Commissioner has a
direct role in making that happen. AYSO offers management training,
and Safe Haven®
certification, RC orientation with an experienced Area Director and
many other resources for Regional Commissioners.

**Anyone
accepting this position is stepping into a position with an almost
fully intact Board of Directors including an Assistant RC, Registrar,
Coaching Admin, Treasurer, Safety Director and CVPA. We're all
pretty easy going and very helpful, so you wouldn't be stepping into
a position where the entire program is on your shoulders.**
2)
Referee Admin:
The Referee Administrator tracks,
trains, schedules and supports the Region's referees, and maintains
the AYSO National Referee Program. The game is not the same without a
referee to call the shots. The parents, coaches and athletes all
depend on the referees to make the competition safe and fair. The
Referee Administrator helps make sure every child has a great
experience.
AYSO's volunteer referees have an important responsibility to the
kids on the field as a model of sportsmanship, soccer knowledge and
interpreter of the Laws of the Game. Those referees need leadership
of their own. The job of Referee Administrator requires proper
referee training and certification, management skills, a background
check and an understanding of the needs of the Region.

3)
Secretary:
Help us track items that need to be
addressed at monthly Board of Directors meetings. This position
will also remain in contact with the Regional Commissioner and
Treasurer.
We've set a deadline of Friday October
27th to select at least the next Regional Commissioner.
The process will include meeting with the Board of Directors and then
the Board voting on approving/selecting the most appropriate
candidate.
If you or someone you know is interested, please
have them contact [email protected] and we'll be in touch
immediately.
Thank you to everyone again for a great
season!
